Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is the grape variety for the great aging wines in Northern Italy like Barolo, Barbaresco and Gattinara.

The grape origins date back to the beginning of the fourteenth centuryand it grown especially in Piedmont Langhe, Upper Piedmont and Lower Aosta Valley that are particularly suitable.

Nebbiolo is medium in size, elongated berries spheroidal blue and black. It is harvested in mid and late October.

Food Pairing: Nebbiolo can typically be enjoyed with appetizers, or pasta with meat sauce. Also very good with meat and salami.

Taste: Fragrant with mineral overtones, enveloping.

Fruit: Notes of balsamic, spicy.

Acidity: Acid in fairness.

Tannin: Little to no bitterness.

Color: Hue medium and high color intensity. Ruby red, brilliant.

Refinement: 3 months in oak barrels and the rest in cement for a total of at least 12 months.

Variety:  Nebbiolo 95%, 5% Barbera & Freisa.

Alcohol:  13% Vol
