About

Treves Wines is a small winery located in Aosta Valley, Italy, on the border with France and Switzerland, with a centuries-old tradition for the production of wines.

In 1997, Treves Gianni, with the help of his mother, took over the management of the farm. This was a legacy from Gianni’s grandparents who bought land in Montjovet after getting married at the beginning of the nineteen hundreds. They dedicated their lives to the production of healthy food.

The main focus of the farm has been production of high quality milk which was used to make a prestigious cheese known around the world as “Fontina”. Other products included fruit, vegetables, potatoes, corn, barley, rye, oats, and wheat.

The farm has more than 6,000 square meters of vineyards in the hills of Montjovet using the traditional pergolas between dry stone walls and vertiginous terraces carved into the rocks. The mild climate of the area favors the growing of grapes.

The vineyards are work by hand and farmed using organic principles with no synthetic fertilizers and crop defense practice that involves a drastic reduction in the use of pesticides. Every few years, fertilization of the vineyards is carried out using manure.

We growth only Nebbiolo and Petite Arvine grapes and the vine  are laid out in pergola and filer structure. The average vine age in our estate is 25 years old. Harvest is typically done in mid September/early October.

Only grapes harvested by hands on our estate, in order to make a quality selection, are used for the production of our boutique wines.
